I did it on last sat over the phone.
Over some stupid, ridiculous remarks by him.
The story goes like this:
I saw cheap tickets to Auckland. Planning a trip there in Nov.
So Mr Tay called up to ask if possible to go on the trip. The boss wasnt ard to answer the call. Awhile later, he called back. I was at the counter so I answered the call.
I asked him the question
Me: We saw cheap air tickets so we are wondering if he can go for the trip
Boss: He had gone for many days of leaves this year le. If he is working for other people, this way of working also wun be accepted by other people de. (Note: we only went a 5D4N trip over weekend to BKK n a 2D1N trip over weekend to Malacca)
Then he go off work from Defu early at 4+pm then only 7pm then reached woodland and tell me he overslept. (FYI, its only a one time incident. He reached home 4+ close to 5pm, he told his boss he take a short nap like 30min and will reach at 6pm. He did oversleep and thus reached woodland at 7pm -- this is what they did when Mr Tay was stationed at woodland, sometimes they reached only at 8+pm, for what?!)
He never seriously work de plus we are short handed liao etc etc etc. (He goes on complaining about Mr Tay's working attitude)
Dun talk about cheap air fare ah, I have a couple of free trips I also cant go ah. Tell u, we should work hard, earn more when we are young. Shld not be keep thinking abt play, have fun. Next time we go on tour together, dun worry about the air fare, dun need you all to pay hor?! ok?!
I got really angry. For the fact he rejected the 'application' of leave, for his comments on Mr Tay had went on for many days of leaves liao, for complaining of Mr Tay's working attitude etc etc.
Me: 如果你要这样讲,我也无话可说.
Boss: 不是我这样讲，你无话可说。etc etc etc
He went on but I continued what I want to say also. I dun care.
It is so unfair to Mr Tay. I got really fed up, pissed off and irritated!!
Straight to the point, he just unfair to his another 'worker' aka his 2nd son cos that fellow had never gone for a single holiday as of now. But H.E.L.L.O nobody said he cant go!! And in fact, Mr Tay is more than willing to cover him if he will to go but he himself dun want it. He said he cant let go of the business blah blah blah.
His 2nd son want to be a caveman that is his problem!! We dun have to become caveman just because he choose to be one! We work hard and we play hard! Even the retail shop worker had gone back twice to her hometown for 1 week each time. And coming July she is going back again.
Why she can go and Mr Tay cant?
Let me get the point straight:
1. Mr Tay only took 4 day of leaves for the BKK trip and 1 day for Malacca. So that is alot?! If he is working outside, it wun be accepted also. Please! I should have argue back, I was told to clear leaves. In fact quite a no. of my friends are too.
2. The boss did go for his free trips, unannounced somemore. We din know they went on the trip till the very day. Then Mr Tay will know the boss isnt ard and he need to cover him over the weekend.
3. The retail worker can go on leave, let her off on sat, leaving only 2 of us to work on sat. Can?! Short handed?! Ya RIGHT! our hands are short, not as long as hers.
4. We earn our own living, pay our own house and car, we spend our own holidays. I dun need sponsored trip from him at all. Esp his trip is CNY trip when I want to spend my CNY with my family members n relatives - CNY tradition. Mr Tay's reaction is the same, we can afford our own holidays, no need to be paid by other people.
I told Mr Tay: I am not going any trip with him. I will tell him, I cant take leave, my office is short handed! Haha..
5. I lead my own life! We have our own ways of relaxing and enjoying life. We enjoy travelling and that is our choice! Dun make us to follow ur(the boss) way just because U(boss) think U(boss) are right! ur(boss) logic is all work no play, ours is work hard play hard. We work smartly!
The boss just simply got this logic, work 18hrs a day is hardworking, work only 8hrs, U arent working enough. Even thou the work finished for both working hours are the same.
6. If the boss think Mr Tay's working attitude is bad, he (we) is more than happy to be sack! There are more jobs outside with much better working benefits + flexible working hours + apperication. But the fact that the boss wun sack him due to there is no way he cant find another so cheap labour!! The boss need him but yet flatten him as much as he could. Its a duplex, dun keep thinking without the boss, Mr Tay cant strive his own living. In fact, I think its the boss without Mr Tay, the retails and warehouse cant function normally.
S.T.U.P.I.D
I will still acknowledge him if I see him but that is all. I got nothing to say with unreasonable , double standard people. Dun make me argue and reason with U. We are easy going but that doesnt mean we can be and should be bully.
I know Mr Tay feel sad n hurt more than angry about holiday plans flop. He doesnt care much about the holidays but he feel sad that his hardwork had all gone down the drain. Not being appricated at all but only complains.
Hope he can get over it soon.
